Logging In
When i try and log in i see this message "You could not be logged on to ISA Server, Make sure that your domain name, user name, and password are correct, and then try again"
Make sure that your username and password are entered correctly.
- Make sure you are using the "." in your username
- Make sure you are entering your password in the correct cases
If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one to be emailed to you. See instructions in the password section below.
Usernames
At the log on screen you will be required to enter your username and password (this should have already been issued to you). Usernames look like this:
Some of my surname is missing from my username
Usernames are limited to 20 characters. If you have a longer surname, some of it may be lost. This cannot be altered.
Passwords
I have forgotten my password, or my password does not appear to be working
If you have forgotten your password (or it does not appear to be working) you can request a new password to be emailed to you.
- Click here to request a new password or via the link on the log on page
- Enter your username in this format: HOSTED\tcp.j.bloggs replacing tcp.j.bloggs with your username
- Enter your security answer to the security question and click the request button
- A new password will be sent to you. You will need to reset your password when you next log on

Changing your password
There are two ways to change your password
- Log into SIMS Learning Gateway and tick the "I want to change my password after logging on" box
You can also change your password in the My Account Page of the SIMS Learning Gateway website
- Log into SIMS Learning Gateway
- Click on the My Account Page from the menu on the left of the screen
- Complete the Change My User Account Password section and press Change (passwords must meet the password complexity requirements which can be found below)
Password rules
Passwords must meet the following rules to be accepted:
- Passwords must be at least 7 characters in length
- Passwords must contain at least 1 number (0-9), one upper case and one lower case alphabetical character
- Passwords must not be similar to your own name or username for example: Bloggs1
- Users will be forced to change passwords every 84 days
Passwords that are being changed/reset cannot be the same as one that has already been used. For example: Password1 cannot be set again to Password1
Password Characters
Your initial password may have some characters that you are not familiar with. See the key combinations below to insert this character. It may be useful to practice your password in Microsoft Word (or similar) first before you attempt sigining in.
